Edward School of Medicine, Department of Surgery for UNIF SRVS UNI OF THE HLTH SCIResponsibilitiesYou will serve as an Administrative Officer within the Department of Surgery, F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine overseeing clerical staff in the Department of Surgery to insure compliance with established policies and regulations.You will be responsible for the coordination between military hospitals, civilian teaching hospitals worldwide to ensure accomplishment of the overall mission of the Department of Surgery.You will serve as the responsible Billing Official for Surgery adhering to all required purchasing processes, policies, and procedures; and maintain the Government Purchase Card statements in accordance with University policy and procedures.You will formulate and evaluate administrative policies and procedures for the office; provide technical oversight for administrative functions to ensure completion.You will develop and prepare personnel actions for recruitment, classification and reorganizations within the Surgery Department.You will advise and provide guidance to managers regarding various alternatives and management on all personnel matters.You will coordinate and oversee the planning of conferences; and convene committee meetings at the direction of the Chair.You will participate in the strategic planning efforts for the Department of Surgery.Travel RequiredOccasional travel - Travel is dependent upon position description and availability of funding. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
