This is primarily an internal facing role. The Agile Product Owner (APO) or Agile Capability Owner (ACO) is assigned to a scrum team (1xteam) and is intended to be the person who truly makes the Agile process work. APO or ACO is responsible for grooming the features by working with SMEs to elicit and define features and user stories. APO or ACO writes the user stories after gathering the features from key stakeholders. This role is empowered to prioritize features and make changes with input from APM, PMC and Leadership alignment. APO or ACO works closely with the Dev. Team. APO or ACO is close enough to the business to define current state but is forward leaning enough to understand where the business will evolve to and can elicit the requirements of future state from stakeholders. A Product Owner or Capability Owner needs to be close to the business to know the voice of the customer and has a skill set that aligns with development.
Primary Responsibilities:
Reviews capability or product backlog with the Product Manager
Responsible for translating product vision from the Product Manager into user stories
Communicates product vision and roadmap to teams and stakeholders
Drives the planning and estimating process
Work seamlessly with the Scrum Master and the development team
Conduct PI planning
Creates Quality Strategy
Attends scrum meetings, standups, retrospectives and demos
Defines user acceptance criteria  with the Product Manager
Responsible for back log refinement & prioritization
Works with product manager to develop a market release plan for product feature
Partnering closely with business leaders and Capability Manager to determine and prioritize enterprise capability needs and proactively develop solutions to meet their needs
Understanding Optum business models, underlying business drivers, applicable industry and marketplace demands
Owning and managing the user stories and features
Ensuring deliverables and business value commitments met are by providing program management subject matter expertise in:  project scope definition, risk identification/mitigation, Agile project methodology, resource allocation, facilitation and other areas of expertise based on established project management techniques
Communicates critical information or concerns to the team in daily scrum meetings. Includes establishing and maintaining effective communication channels to ensure the customer and solution team are kept abreast of any key changes in strategy or solution direction
Maintaining and continuously improving client satisfaction
Successfully navigating across a matrix environment to engage appropriate internal and external partners to assure successful execution
Fostering teamwork and collaboration by encouraging people to draw on each other to work together, within and across teams
Effective ongoing management of the established capability:
Customer management and communications
Prioritization of customer requests, operations activities, and continuous improvement enhancements
Identify new capability usage opportunities
Present solutions, overcome objectives, and win new business

Required Qualifications:
3+ years of Product Management / Product Owner experience
2+ years of experience working with technology delivery teams
2+ years of experience preparing and presenting to a variety of audiences at all levels of the corporation
Experienced with Agile project methodology
MS Project, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Product Information Management (PIM) experience (e.g. Informatica 360, Stibo, EnterWorks, etc.)
Master Data Management (MDM) experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Healthcare Industry experience
Leadership role experience
Experience developing products for customers, including
