An Assistant Controller position has opened up with one of our clients. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with a demonstrated history of resolving problems after identifying issues. You will keep the Controller up to date on the accounting staff as the Assistant Controller. This full-time employment opportunity is based in Midland-Odessa, TX. How you will make an impact


- Support the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting


- Assemble distinct technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures


- Uphold to ensure a competent, trained staff through development, regular assessment, and goal setting


- Specify and generate process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency


- Additional responsibilities if necessary


- Steer the accounting team during the closing process to warrant deadlines are met


- Well-developed preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits


- Sort out and construct Ad Hoc financial reports


- Support implementation and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures


- Ensure regular account reconciliation to completion


- Boost accountability and the meeting of deliverables


- Backfill for Controller as provided


- Formulate relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like actual spend against budgets/outlook, key financial metrics, and the monthly flash report

Requeriments
- Sound written and verbal communication skills


- Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills


- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IIA standards


- CPA certification desired


- 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience


- Significant accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred


- Proven knowledge of Expense Analysis


- General familiarity with CapEx


- Practical knowledge of budgeting


- Expertise in Quarter-end


- Foundational knowledge in Accounts Receivable (AR)


- Well-founded grasp of Expense Control


- Purchase Orders experience


- Wide ranging experience with variance analysis


- Month end closings experience


- Quality experience with Cost Variance


- Strong familiarity with analysis


- Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical


- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting


- Complete knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
