Assistant Director of Distribution

Position Summary:

Direct the day to day operations of the Fred Meyer Jewelers Distribution Center and the distribution and inventory of jewelry merchandise. Role model and demonstrate the Company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of self and others.

Frequent independent judgments are essential. Fred Meyer also requires that all associates perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.

Essential Job Functions:

Model "Customer 1st" behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
Assign operational procedures for distribution center activities
Consult with Fred Meyer Jewelers Leadership and buyers to coordinate distribution center activities, which include receiving, shipping, filling orders, replenishment, housekeeping/equipment maintenance, vendor returns and repairs
Inspect and verify physical condition of facility and equipment is acceptable
Review analysis of activities, costs, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives
Monitor inventory for loss prevention and safety purposes
Manage the distribution center hiring process for hourly personnel
Coordinate the displays and distribution of merchandise and supplies for new store openings
Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Minimum Position Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus two-four years Jewelry Distribution experience; or combination of relevant education and experience.
Minimum 18 years of age
Ability to pass drug test
Ability to work weekends on an occasional basis
Ability to travel independently on a rare basis
Maintain confidentiality
Accuracy/attention to detail
Ability to organize/prioritize variety of tasks/projects
Familiarity with jewelry terms and processes
Ability to operate the following special equipment, machinery, and/or special tools: tagging machine, jewelry loupe, diamond tester, diamond tweezers
Valid driver's license
Desired Previous Job Experience:

Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, jewelry system software
Management experience
Experience directing and participating on project teams
