It is the mission of the ODA to engage and collaborate with faculty and other campus partners to ensure students with disabilities at the University of North Texas have access to all university programs, services, and activities; promote equity and inclusion for students with disabilities; and provide a platform for accessible pedagogical innovation. Job Description The Office of Disability Access (ODA) at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Assistant Director, Student Access to join our team. This position is primarily responsible for facilitating access to the academic programs, services, activities and facilities of the institution for students with disabilities.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
* Provide oversight and participate with ODA staff that conduct student registration meetings, review disability documentation, and assess the interaction of the student's disability with the environment to coordinate reasonable accommodations.
* Provide oversight of the area and staff that coordinate the ODA Test Center.
* Coordinate campus-wide placement of adaptive classroom furniture, individually assess student accommodation need, and maintain inventory of adaptive classroom furniture in UNT Facilities warehouse.
* Address physical access complaints by students through collaboration with campus partners.
* Assist with revision and development of policies and procedures in areas of supervision.
* Manage caseload of students, e.g. accommodation coordination, referral to resources, advising, and course registration.
* Provide university-wide consultation, education, and training on the social construction of disability and the intersections of disability with social, educational, technological, and physical environments.
* Create programs that promote student inclusion and retention.
* Provide office support in keeping up-to-date with trends in ADA compliance and accommodation issues, social justice, universal design, and budgetary management.
* Develop and oversee the assembly and dissemination of publication material and other release of media information and maintains thorough and accurate records relating to student documentation and service requests.

Minimum Qualifications The successful candidate will possess the following Master's Degree in related field and four years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Preferred Qualifications The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
* Advanced educational preparation (doctoral studies or completed terminal degree) in a related field; familiarity with access/assistive technology.
* Five years of directly related professional experience in a post-secondary disability services office, including three years of supervisory experience.
* Experience in evaluating disability documentation and determining eligibility for services and accommodations.
* Knowledge of laws involving students with disabilities (e.g., ADA, 504, 508, FERPA, etc.) and ADA accessibility guidelines and how they apply in the post-secondary environment.
* A philosophical commitment to diversity, the social model of disability, and the principles of Universal Design.
* Experience assisting and training college students, faculty, and staff.
