Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Computer Engineering

The Computer Engineering Department in the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology invites applications for an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Computer Engineering faculty position starting in August 2020. The position is a full-time, tenure-track appointment. The primary responsibilities for the position include research, teaching and service work. The ideal candidate applying for an Associate Professor position will bring an established record of a vigorous, interdisciplinary, and sustainable externally funded research program. Those applying for Assistant Professor position should show promise for developing such a program.


Courses are taught on the Marietta campus of Kennesaw State University and are offered during daytime and evening hours. Faculty are expected to teach in a variety of instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, flipped classroom and online.


An earned doctoral degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer and/or Electrical Engineering or closely related field is required. The ideal candidate will have a research specialization in machine learning, IoT, embedded systems, or computer networks.


Preferred qualifications typically include:


- Experience in securing or showing promise for national-level external funding.
- Industry experience and/or Professional Engineering licensure.
- Experience teaching in various instructional modalities.
- Research in one of the University’s research themes: biomedical and health services, technology and computing, sustainable and safe communities, and human development and wellbeing.
