The Position


Lewis University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Psychology. Lewis University serves a diverse student population and community and we invite applications from individuals that embody a commitment to diversity. This position will begin August 2020.


Some Responsibilities Include:


- Serve as a Core Faculty Member in the School Counseling Program; teaching a total of eight classes per year, primarily graduate courses
- Graduate student advising
- Assist with CACREP accreditation efforts; assist in the development and implementation of continuous program evaluation and improvement; cooperate with the Program Director and other faculty in the development of the curriculum, preparation and update of course syllabi, course outlines, and selection of textbooks and additional curricular materials
- Participate in Graduate Program, Department, College, and University meetings.

Minimum Qualifications


Earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program (ABD considered) and 3-5 years of teaching graduate and undergraduate courses.


Preferred Qualifications


Online teaching experience preferred. Experience in the K-12 school system strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will: have a clear counselor educator identity, have clinical, supervisory and K-12 experience in working with students with diverse backgrounds, evidence of scholarship in the counseling education field, a well-defined area of clinical expertise, be licensed in the State of Illinois, demonstrate cultural competent teaching and counseling practices, and present evidence of scholarly potential.
