Lewis University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Theology, with a specialization in the study of a major religious tradition other than Christianity and/or Inter-religious Studies. The Lewis University Theology Department offers students the opportunity to explore faith, tradition, values, and the religious forces that shape our society and world. Study and examination take place with an eye toward practical application in both religious and secular environments. Our innovative curriculum includes a growing number of interdisciplinary options such as Peace Studies and a partnership between Theology and Computer Science. Our signature Rome program offers all students the chance to spend time abroad and the recently launched Brother Jeffrey Gros, FSC, Institute for Dialogue, Justice and Social Action represents our longstanding commitment to dialogue and ecumenism in the spirit of the Second Vatican Council.
Some Responsibilities Include:
- Teach a total of 12 credit hours per semester in introductory undergraduate courses in religion/theology as part of the general education curriculum, as well as advanced undergraduate courses in the candidate’s area of specialization
- Maintain an active research agenda
- Serve the university community

PhD in Religious Studies, Religion, Comparative Theology, Inter-religious Studies, or related discipline is required. ABD candidates will be considered.
