Description

The Boutique Management Team is focused on four primary areas: leadership, image and service, operational efficiency, and driving the business. The Associate Director will partner with the Boutique Director to supervise the day-to-day overall sales and operations of the store, manage and motivate the team, and create a luxury service culture. He/she should be a proactive leader who will inspire the team and clients on the selling floor. The Associate Director will be responsible for overseeing handbags and small leather goods within the New York 57th Street Flagship Boutique, and will support the Boutique Director in maximizing the overall boutique sales volume and profitability. 


LEADERSHIP


- Develop and lead team to achieve company standards across all categories;  Assume oversight for boutique in absence of Director; Lead by example on the selling floor, proactively coaching and inspiring the team
- Foster a positive working environment that encourages diversity, mutual respect and teamwork and is free of discrimination and harassment
- Set clear goals & expectations and hold consistent coaching sessions with associates to review performance and provide timely feedback;  Oversee annual review process for direct reports
- Proactively address and resolve employee issues; partner with Director and HR as needed
- Own recruitment process and onboard new hires, training on company processes, policies and procedures
- Display a strong commitment to self-development and growth
- Lead by example in the demonstration of integrity, honesty and knowledge to promote the company culture, values, and mission
- Remain reactionary to business trends and traffic patterns by maintaining open communication with boutique team


IMAGE & CLIENT SERVICE


- Support team on the floor in providing a superior Chanel Experience for clients; Set an example through client interactions and ensure a welcoming environment exists on the floor
- Monitor the execution of personal image guidelines amongst team in a reasonable, constructive and respectful manner
- Partner with Director and Associate Director, Client Services, on client development by designing & supporting strategic initiatives
- Innovate ways to contribute to the community to reach new clients & build brand awareness
- Address and successfully resolve client situations according to company philosophy and standards
- Coach Fashion Advisors to develop sales technique and clienteling skills
- Strategize and innovate ways to improve service standards
- Aspire to represent the brand in the community through attendance of events to build boutique awareness


OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY


- Oversee and make contributions to streamline and improve the effectiveness of daily store operations
- Maintain thorough understanding of all policies, procedures and processes; Ensure team adherence and constantly reinforce the philosophy behind these principles
- Partner with management team to support, promote and assume responsibility for loss prevention in all areas of risk management, physical security, store cash controls, inventory management, and L/P audits


BUSINESS RESULTS


- Drive all aspects of business including assortment planning, communication with buyers, community networking and client development
- Partner with Director and internal team to develop business goals for assigned product categories and translate into action plan; Routinely monitor achievement of goals
- Run business with agility, changing direction & continuously improving based on key indicators and lessons learned
- Assist Director in conceptualizing, preparing and executing special events, trunk shows, and community initiatives
- Encourage boutique leaders to generate innovative ideas to help build the business through experimentation and test and learns


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


- Bachelor’s degree required;  Degree in management, hospitality or fashion-related field a plus
- 8+ years of prior retail management experience


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:


- Strong vision and leadership skills; proven track record of developing a team
- Analytical skills and ability to identify trends
- Ability to understand budgets, sales, scheduling impact, goals, and allocations
- High degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers, and management team
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and stand/walk for extended hours
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have flexible schedule with the ability to work late nights, weekends and some holidays
