The Audio Engineer for GMO Post would mix and sound design content for various NBC Universal’s Cable Entertainment properties. Additionally, they would work with editors to add audio to assets for on-air broadcast and digital platforms. They would also help maintain audio rooms and equipment by working with engineering on upgrades and work with manager on future builds and needs for both software and hardware to keep the GMO audio rooms up to date with the latest needed equipment. The Audio Engineer will also be the lead for freelance audio engineers and create SOPs for best practices.
Creates audio mixes and sound design for GMO Post Production
Provide a strong creative vision and direction for all mixes
Creation and delivery of audio files back to editor or clients in a timely fashion
Performs voice-over recordings, sessions, dialog editing and audio treatment as needed
Proficiency in ProTools, Waves Plugins and knowledge of Avid isis storage
Regulates volume levels and sound quality during recording sessions, to broadcast standards.
Drive high quality standard for audio throughout GMO Post
Mix and design dialogue, sound effects, and music for assets in both stereo and 5.1 surround
Experience in Audio & systems design collaboration tools
Troubleshoots and maintain recording equipment, plugins and ProTools software in audio rooms EC and 30 Rock
Work collaboratively with editors, PMs, writer producers and other audio engineers as well clients to assess scope of projects
Stores and catalogues all audio projects
Stay current on industry trends and new technology for sound design
Degree in Audio Engineering, Production, or equivalent work experience in a related field
5 years of relevant professional experience required
Good organizational and project management skills are necessary
Proficiency in ProTools HD, Waves Plugins and knowledge of Avid systems
Must be able to assist in maintaining both hardware and software
Must be able to work in a fast pace environment
Working knowledge of post ecosystem
