BGC Tech: Business Analyst, Regulatory TechnologyBGC Partners is currently seeking a Business Analyst to join the Regulatory Technology group.

Main Purpose of the role:


- Creating functional requirements for the development of new regulatory requirements for trade reporting and trade surveillance
- Creating functional requirements for enhancements, fixes and migration of reporting logic in legacy systems to the strategic reporting platform
- Creating functional requirements for enhancements, fixes and migration of trade surveillance in legacy systems to the strategic trade surveillance platform
- Engaging upstream system owners and business representative where changes are required for regulatory

Key Responsibilities:


- Creating functional requirements for the development of new regulatory requirements for trade reporting and trade surveillance
- Creating functional requirements for enhancements, fixes and migration of reporting logic in legacy systems to the strategic reporting platform
- Creating functional requirements for enhancements, fixes and migration of trade surveillance in legacy systems to the strategic trade surveillance platform
- Engaging upstream system owners and business representatives where changes are required for regulatory reporting and trade surveillance purposes
- Design, document and test requirements in the space of Regulatory Reporting and Trade Surveillance
- Provide data analytics to support existing applications, assist in diagnosis and resolution of issues for regulatory requirements working with big data: structured data (trade, pre-trade and market data) as well as unstructured data (voice, email, and chat data) covering global trading activity
- Engaging stakeholders within compliance and operations, working with Technology and front office systems representatives in articulating requirements with target state design decisions and technology enablement
- Active involvement in creating, enhancing and implementing surveillance scenarios and conducting surveillance reviews. Contributing to enhancing current surveillance controls and developing new surveillance tools, reports and procedures
- Complete the regular and ad-hoc tasks necessary to complete the reviews, monitoring, testing and/or surveillance and other work which makes up the department's risk based testing programme.

Skills Required:

- 5 years minimum experience of being a business analyst, ideally in the tech space
- High level understanding of the IDB market and capital markets in general
- Understanding of trade/order flows after high-level Capital Markets experience
- Ability to write complex functional requirements in both agile and waterfall methodologies
- Good knowledge of MS Office
- SQL knowledge, experience with JSON and XML schemas
- Ability to prioritize own workload and to work in a team with proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The candidate should be adaptable to change and willing to work in a fast paced environment with a positive attitude
- Confidence to challenge the status quo and demonstrate strong risk awareness
- Excellent judgment and decision making skill

Nice to Have:

- Product background in investment banking and/or good knowledge of Credit, Equities and derivatives products
- Good understanding of market abuse regulations and potential market abuse related scenarios
