Business Continuation and Procurement Specialist (Northeast Region)-OPE0004C
The Group Insurance Distribution organization is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to assist in the execution of various functions for Distribution including business continuation, records retention, and procurement and security. This position will report to the Director, Operations and Controls (O&C) and will provide support to a geographically dispersed organization of approximately 300 employees in over 30 U.S. locations. The incumbent is expected to become a subject matter expert to help ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations and company policies while partnering with local contacts, the leadership team, and corporate functions.
Several key responsibilities of the position include:
Supports the Business Continuation (BC) and Records Retention processes.
Supports the business units in planning for a disaster by assisting in the preparation, maintenance, design, development and implementation of formal BC plans, including participating in disaster recovery efforts.
Responsible for performing basic audit, maintenance, testing, call list updates, etc., for existing BC programs.
Supports the Records Retention process by assisting business unit coordinators with implementing various records policies and procedures.
Responsible for the day to day management of the procurement and information security process.
Assisting Distribution in fulfilling standard and non-standard procurement and information security requests and providing support with the ordering processes, procedures, and issue resolution.
Developing and maintaining procedures, communications, and other tools to reinforce compliance in Distribution.
Processing requests for onboarding new hires, transfers, and terminations, including providing general reporting to the organization.
Partnering with GBTS, Distribution, and the BISO as necessary to process exceptions and implement Company-wide initiatives.
Providing training, as necessary to ensure proper understanding and utilization of compliance procedures.
Driving continuous process improvement (e.g. efficiencies, controls, governance) in partnership with internal stakeholders and the Director of Operations & Controls.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Business continuation and procurement and information security experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external partners at all levels across the organization.
Strong project management skills.
Ability to work individually and in teams
Demonstrated drive, persistence, personal ownership of assignments, the ability to actively participate in decision making, and the ability to problem-solve
Possess excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
