What is the opportunity?

 

Business Data Analyst, a member of the Financial & Analytics IT team working with Fixed Income & Commodities business partners and various technology groups to enhance our sales revenue reporting platform and increase data integrity across our systems
 
What will you do?

 

Work with Business Managers / Business Stakeholders and technical teams who are responsible for building, modifying and maintaining the sales revenue systems
Engage with all Stakeholders to determine, document and validate business and user requirements using applicable techniques (e.g. user stories & acceptance criteria, business rules, use cases, process flows etc) and provide technical solutions that benefits the business
Work with Stakeholders and Project Management to define the scope and priorities
Act as the conduit and knowledge source between the Business Stakeholders and IT\Operations to facilitate and verify the solution design process to ensure it aligns with the business requirements
Support and inform the Development, QA and UAT phases
Strive for continuous improvements of our processes, application designs and application execution
Work with technical team who are responsible for building, modifying and maintaining the sales revenue system with goal to resolve existing data issues to enhance data quality
Utilize financial expertise and data knowledge to review different data feeds and transformation
Integrate data external systems with internal systems
Perform detailed analysis of data model, calculations and draw conclusions; translate the data into an understandable document
Understand business context, problems and communicates them clearly in written and oral format
Present analysis to all levels of management
Utilize tools such as SQL to perform analysis against existing data
Strive for continuous improvements of our processes, application designs and application execution
 

What do you need to succeed?

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or similar
Financial services industry and capital markets experience
Experience in facilitating and enabling business change
Ability to develop high quality and clear technical documents
A general knowledge of financial products and concepts, particularly Fixed Income and Commodities products
Strong analytical/critical thinking skills
Good understanding of data management practices
Strong knowledge of SQL reporting/query tools and Excel.
Understanding the data flows, data requirements, data management and controls
Knowledge of data analysis techniques, languages, software and systems
Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
Team player with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
Proactive attitude, ability to work independently and a desire to continuously learn new skills and technologies
Knowledge of the different types of trade capture systems, trade lifecycle, and sales revenue is a plus
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information with accuracy
Ability to conduct analysis on the data using database querying, excel, and other methods
Proactive in identifying issues and recommending solutions
A critical thinker who uses logic to identify alternatives, evaluate, and present approaches to solve complex problems
An excellent communicator of complex (often technical) information to various audiences
Detail-oriented, careful and thorough in accomplishing tasks
Excellent multi-tasker capable of handling multiple projects at any one time
