Brief Description of the Organization CBNA is the primary legal entity for Citi, providing products and services to consumers, financial institutions and corporate clients around the world. In the past, Citi has provided most of its internal reporting on a business by business basis. With the changes in the regulatory environment, strong legal entity reporting and governance has become essential. This team is responsible for ensuring that CBNA has the appropriate governance and control infrastructure to meet the demand for legal entity planning, execution, information management and the ever-evolving regulatory environment.
The Banking and Custody group is a product organization within Citi Private Bank's North America and Latin America regions, and is part of the larger Institutional Clients Group ("ICG") division of Citigroup.
The group is responsible for developing and selling three main product areas; Banking Products, Custody/safekeeping services, and Escrow Agent Services. The client base for this business includes Ultra High Net Worth Individuals and Families, nationally recognized Law Firms and their Partners, and Institutional Entities such as RIA's, Hedge Funds and Private Equity firms that primarily seek banking deposit products and custody services related to investment portfolios.
This role directly supports the CPB Americas Banking, Custody & Escrow businesses in contributing to the monitoring, reporting, and enhancement of the internal control framework and oversight of control processes functioning within the business (first line of defense). The successful candidate will work with Banking & Custody & Escrow Sales team, Custody Service, Banking Sales, Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal Departments.
This role will report to the In-Business Risk lead and will contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of the internal control framework within the Banking & Custody & Escrow team.
• Detail oriented individual with experience in processes re-engineering
•Analytical skills: the ability to read, comprehend and interpret legal documents and contracts governing escrow accounts is helpful, but not required
• Familiarity with the Banking and Securities industries including securities movements and deposit products
• Project management skills: candidate must be highly organized and efficient; ability to effectively multi-task and adhere to daily time sensitive deadlines is critical
• Knowledge of US regulatory and industry standards for retail consumer and Custody products in general - including infrastructure requirements and related controls
• Experience with operational risk and/or internal controls is a plus
• Operate in an environment that is dynamic, fast-paced, requires creative solutions, quick thinking, multi-tasking, high energy and timely turnaround
•Independent thinker and able to perform a credible challenge of the Business
•Ability to influence and convince without authority
•Ability to work collaboratively within and across functions and Lines of Defense
