Position Description
Job Summary
Responsible for defined purchasing portfolio within North America. Collaboration with key stakeholders (internal & external) and support execution of Volvo CE business objectives through performance indicators.
Responsible for defining / implementing sourcing strategies for a given segment portfolio. Drive Quality, Delivery and Cost targets at the sub-commodity level by strategically and actively working together with suppliers and stakeholders in Operations, Technology and Sales & Marketing.
Job Contents
Lead purchasing activities for aftermarket business in full alignment with business requirements and sourcing strategies
Optimize TCO and secure QDC deliverables of purchased items
Responsible for supplier interface through effective communication and partnership (“Supplier Host”)
Own supply continuity problem solving (risk and crisis mitigation) for the assigned purchasing segment
Work cross-functionally and-or cross BA / BU as needed; sporadically taking the lead (coordination and communication) in joint efforts
Responsible for a purchasing portfolio in aftermarket
Perform purchasing activities for specific portfolio: optimize TCO (price, quality, logistics, manufacturing), RFQ’s, negotiations, contract management, ... while securing parts availability throughout product life cycle
Manage relationships with suppliers
Work closely with and support the plant operations team for supplier related issues
Manage invoices discrepancies
Support aftermarket product modifications / cost rationalization activity
Support serial production changes (ECN) for aftermarket
Contribute to commodity strategies and to the achievement of P&SM KPIs targets
Work in accordance with the Volvo Group policies and procedures

Required Knowledge & Experience
Education / Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering,  IT or related field with minimum 3 years’ experience in Purchasing or Procurement
Familiarity with technical specifications (ie. able to read and understand engineering drawings, standards ...)
Professional certification / accreditation in the area of Purchasing / Procurement is a plus

Occasional domestic and infrequent international travel required.
