Job Summary
This position reports directly to the office of Shelby County Community Corrections.All inquiries should be directed to 205-669-8965.
This position is responsible for ensuring all residents comply with the standard operating procedures of the Residential Facility and maintain compliance with court orders and related requirements.Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Residential Facility Manager.

DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES


- The case manager is responsible for the set up and maintenance of green files for overnight residential clients.
- Complete orientation within 48 hours client's arrival and inputting vital information into the MIDAS System.
- The case manager is responsible for the preparation and implementation of a client specific plan including assisting with gainful employment.
- The case manager is responsible for supervising and managing a caseload of adults placed at the SCCC Residential Facility for overnight detention ensuring they are supervised at the appropriate level based on the Alabama Risk Assessment System (ARAS). Requirements of the ARAS may require conducting interviews at the residential facility, jail or courthouse.
- The case manager is responsible for gathering personal, social and criminal history of clients.
- The case manager instructs clients regarding specific conditions of their sentence based on the court order.
- The case manager is responsible for ensuring supervision fees, fines, drug test, court costs, restitution, child support and various other fees are paid by clients.
- The case manager is responsible for collecting payroll from clients.
- The case manager will keep data on clients through the SCCC case management system
- (MIDAS) including status changes and case notes.
- The case manager is responsible for completing various form and follow administrative regulations to meet SCCC requirements.
- The case manager is responsible for investigating, verifying, compiling and presenting findings to SCCC management and court officials of resident's hours away from the center (including reporting escapes).
- The case manager is responsible for attending court as needed and maintaining communication with court personnel including the submission of the motion to revoke sentence.
- The case manager must use sound judgment when issuing sanctions and formal warnings/notices for residents concerning any disciplinary actions.
- The case manager is responsible for assisting SCCC staff with searching clients upon entrance into the center, facility searches, car searches and securing evidence.
- The case manager is responsible for monitoring resident's work activities and maintaining communication with employers (including site visits).
- The case manager is responsible for aiding clients in acquiring legal documents; birth certificates, social security and driver's license.
- The case manager is responsible for screening all requests submitted by clients and scheduling appointments with physicians, therapists and dentists.
- The case manager is responsible for intake/count incoming prescription medications.
- The case manager is responsible for holding regular monthly meetings with clients.
- The case manager is responsible for mediating between clients and their families (including reading incoming mail).
- The case manager is responsible for administering drug screens and checking drug screen results as needed.
- The case manager is responsible for generating a weekly pass list, church list, community service list and bunk search list.
- The case manager is responsible for working with local law enforcement, Alabama Department of Corrections and other Community Corrections programs to resolve cases/issues.
- The case manager is responsible for assisting with the billing of DOC 10-Point diversions.
- Any additional responsibilities as seen fit or necessary by the Executive Director.


Qualifications and Requirements
MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS


- BS or BA degree from SACSaccredited university
- Direct experience administering policies and procedure
- Caseload management experience
