Who You'll Work With
The Cloud Authorization Assessment Engineer role supports complex, multi-disciplinary projects. You will support multiple projects with internal customers and will be a critical component of ushering document work through an entire project lifecycle. This includes self-management skills to maintain project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project partners. Your projects may span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and you will need to communicate clearly on the progress of project documentation work and meeting ATO deadlines. You will be working with and assisting the Cisco Global Certification Team (GCT) to coordinate across the Cisco organization and should be able to task between, and understand, each authorization boundary. You will also work with Business Unit engineering programs that vary in complexity and visibility. The Government Certification Team spans cross all Cisco product lines both in the US and internationally to authorize products selling into the Public Sector.
You will be responsible for ensuring each ATO serviced by GCT is aligned with relevant US Federal Government security requirements (e.g. FISMA, FedRAMP, DoD, etc.). You will work closely with engineering, security, compliance, internal audit, and the project management office as well as other partners, such as accrediting agencies and customers to analyze, define, and verify compliance solutions and acceptance in the marketplace. You will collaborate with US Government accreditation bodies and partners to understand evolving compliance requirements and mapping these requirements to each ATO’s suite of offerings in an effort to determine fit and assess our compliance readiness. You will perform, on an ongoing basis, quality reviews, rewrites, and editing of a wide-range of IT security domain related documentation. You will assist in developing and maintaining Cisco cloud security guidelines, standards, and policies.
Further, in this role, you are a key player in the developing and tracking of annual metrics for the team. You should have a keen grasp of product development life cycles, assisting the team drive toward creative outcomes, and be able to conduct and produce strategic proof of concepts.
What You'll Do
Work with multiple partners (internal and external) across product lines to coordinate with teams around each FISMA/FedRAMP/DoD authorization.
Provide feedback for reports that track planning, scheduling, issues, risks, and overall status.
Lead multi-functional program teams in the planning, definition and execution of all stages of the FedRAMP ATO process.
Decipher complex concepts and solutions into multiple types of documents (requirements, compliance, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), test results, etc.)
Implement and maintain Cisco cloud tooling and support framework adaptation.
Ensure that effective processes are in place and functioning to achieve the end goals of the FedRAMP program, while also driving towards continuous improvement.
Responsible for assisting with program strategy /development and management.
Tracking and development of annual metrics in addition to developing/defining Operational Goals.
Who You Are
5+ years specialized experience in authoring security documentation for requirements, compliance, SOPs, test results, etc.
5+ years of experience with Federal Information Security Standards including FedRAMP, NIST, DISA and DoD documentation
Demonstrated knowledge on: System Security Plan, compliance documentation, testing results, standard operating procedures, etc.
Proven competence in product management, planning, scheduling, and management of multiple, concurrent programs in geographically dispersed locations.
Demonstrated experience in collaborative design and design thinking to support training requirements of authorization processes.
Excellent grasp of the product and system development life cycle.
Experience in requirements gathering, and outcome driven innovation.
Experience with cloud security and overall cloud computing architecture.
Experience with communication between senior leadership, operational teams, development teams and compliance teams.
Experience with development of presentation materials and overall presentation skills around technology and compliance.
Experience applying process improvement techniques.
Able to influence important business decisions without direct management authority.
Excellent written and verbal communication
