Control & Change Management Lead VP
An exciting new opportunity has opened up in our Cards and Payments business where you will be supporting the Chief Control Officer in setting, implementing and maintaining the risk appetite and risk management support level. You will provide specialist support, co-ordination and oversight of the Corporate Operations Risk and Control framework, focusing on control improvements and ensuring that the staff are aware of their risk management responsibilities through communication and training.
What you will be doing
You will provide the appropriate assurance to the Barclays business unit Chief Operations and Technology Officer, business unit Executive Committee, and to the Global Chief Operations and Technology Officer that we are operating to the appropriate level of risk and compliance with regards to operational and technology risks across all Barclays Cards and Payments operations and technology
•Identify deficiencies in control practices and business processes, creating remediation plans and drive delivery of corrective actions
•Oversee remediation of control gaps and weaknesses, providing subject matter expertise for control design and assuring remediation commitments are met
•Build effective relationships with the Front Office Risk owners to ensure collaboration on key shared objectives
•Perform ORAC Data Integrity checks to identify any exceptions across Cards and Payments organization
•Contribute to the medium / short term planning process to ensure that Regulatory and Mandatory Change initiatives are properly reflected and accounted for in Barclays Cards and Payments;
What we’re looking for:
•8+ years management experience
•5+ years in a risk environment or relevant business experience required.
Skills that will help you in the role:
•Strong Ops & Tech leader able to bring together direct and virtual teams in pursuit of business goals;
•strong understanding of business unit management of risk, compliance and controls including conduct risk, IRM, BCM, Payment risk, Complaints & Conduct Risk;
•Understanding of the broader financial market and its impact on the business;
•Ability to analyze and forecast trends, developing and implementing steps to reduce risks.
•An understanding and experience in the Payment/Card Services industry including regulatory and audit arena
