What you’ll be doing...
Verizon is looking for an individual with strong analytical, critical thinking, strategic framework, and communications skills to join the Corporate Strategy team where you will focus on partnership strategies, and companywide strategic initiatives. This position will sit in the consulting practice of the Corporate Strategy team and you will help lead and facilitate the next wave of strategy and business development across Verizon.
You will have the opportunity to work on many projects but a critical role will be in support of the Verizon wide partnership initiatives. In support of these projects, the successful candidate will have strong skills in market analysis, business case development, business and technology trend analysis, and scenario development in new and emerging segments. It will be essential to build a trusted relationship with the business leaders recognizing when to coach, facilitate and when to challenge with the objective of making the business strategy the best it can be.
You will learn the “Verizon Strategy Process including tools from “Play to Win” and be able to apply the process in the formulation of corporate strategy as well as business unit strategy. You will be the primary interface with the business groups and will also be adept in bringing the other corporate strategy resources and tools to the business groups as necessary. These resources and tools include business development, scenario planning, red teaming, portfolio management, market and competitive research and market sizing.
The Corporate Strategy team works on high-visibility projects including C-level topics and serves as a pipeline of top leadership talent into the organization.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
Five or more years of relevant work experience supporting strategic business initiatives and nurturing relationships for new business opportunities, both externally and internally.
Executive presence and a high degree of comfort in working directly with senior management.
Experience supporting executive-level communications in a rapid paced environment.
Demonstrated project management skills: supporting client teams, peers and team members through key aspects of strategy projects, supporting multiple work streams simultaneously towards development of critical project deliverables.
Ability to balance multiple projects of varying duration supporting both the pipeline as well as projects underway.
Demonstrated capability to be a strategic thinker with strong quantitative and analytical skills, combined with proven exceptional critical thinking abilities.
Management Consulting in one or more of the following areas:
Market Research and Analysis, Competitive assessment for technology.
Investment Banking, Venture Capital.
