Credit Risk Underwriting VP
The Credit Risk Underwriting VP provides project specific leadership in optimizing acquisition strategies to drive resilient growth of the Barclays US portfolio. This includes evaluating various data sources to optimize underwriting and line assignment processes. The individual will manage manual underwriting processes, strategy implementation and validation, and partner level performance tracking for both internal and external reporting.
What will you be doing?
•Managing a group of risk professionals who are responsible for digital bank and branded credit card risk management
•Evaluating alternative data for underwriting and line assignment strategies using statistical analysis techniques such as CHAID Decision Trees, optimization procedures, loss forecasting, enhanced process monitoring, data quality analyses, and incorporate score implementations supporting launch
•Developing and monitoring customized manual underwriting process
•Working with Segment / Strategic Analytics / Decision Science staff to ensure project completion within agreed time frames and end-client satisfaction
•Analyzing, validating, tracking, and monitoring delivered projects
What we’re looking for:
•Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (ex. Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics)
•10+ years of analytical work experience in a financial services company
•5+ years of experience with analytical software (e.g. SAS), SQL tools (e.g., Oracle), Unix platforms, Knowledge Seeker, and MS Office
Skills that will help you in the role:
•Masters degree or PhD in a quantitative area
•Strong communication skills & ability to work independently
•Ability to work with multiple stakeholders
•Project management skills
