Customer Service Representative II - Billing - 12:30pm-9pm

Position Summary:

Responsibilities include working closely with the Customer Service team to ensure that calls are answered timely and that customer questions and/or concerns are resolved timely and accurately in order to promote customer loyalty. Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of the revenue cycle management process. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Essential Job Functions:

Resolve customer and provider billing concerns and answer questions related to billing issues
Follow up on customer inquiries within departmental guidelines
Retrieve voicemail messages daily and return customer/provider calls within departmental guidelines
Correct and resubmit claims to insurance carriers where appropriate
Forward insurance issues to appropriate department where appropriate
Document in detail all actions taken in accounts receivable system
Anticipate customer needs, act with the customer in mind, exceed customer expectations, and gain customers’ trust and respect
Recognize, document and alert management of trends in customer calls/complaints
Participate in process improvement initiatives
Manage any special projects requested by supervisor or team lead
Perform other duties as needed or assigned by supervisor

Minimum Position Qualifications & Education:

High school diploma
2+ years of experience in medical billing and collections in an outpatient setting
1+ years of call center/customer service experience
Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite
Strong written and oral communication skills
Active listening skills
Thorough working knowledge of revenue cycle management, including medical terminology, knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT-4 coding, Medicare reimbursement guidelines, and billing and collection practices
Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent planning, organizational, and follow-up skills with close attention to detail
Highly self-motivated, with an ability to work independently and with a team
Knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures governing credit balance analysis and resolution
Ability to remain flexible during times of change and adjust promptly and effectively
