Universal Brand Development seeks a Data Analyst to join the high-performance
Publishing team within the Games and Digital Platforms group. This position will be responsible for uncovering key game insights, guiding product decisions, and promoting a healthy culture of analytical thinking across the team.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Support good, data-informed decision making on games, from pre-production through live operations.
Conduct ad hoc SQL analyses, to make product recommendations and help game teams understand the nature of the relationship between players and the games that they play.
Support operational data independence and business intelligence needs for the many teams that use game data in their work. This includes the creation of canned reports and Looker dashboards, as well as increasing the general level of data education across the organization.
Advise on methods and report on findings for major marketing, user acquisition, and advertising initiatives. Translate business needs into technical requirements.
Conduct tests with the statistical rigor necessary to make strong recommendations.
Influence the way that we think about what makes a successful game, defining key metrics and evaluating game features. Identify and disseminate best practices across groups on how to interpret data.
Create models to forecast spend and revenue based on historical trends, industry research, and predictive models created by the Data Science team.
Work with production, publishing, and technical operations teams to ensure data quality on assigned titles.
•2+ years business analysis experience with hands-on experience with data analytics
•Strong hands-on experience with SQL, data warehousing, data modeling, dashboards and reporting, involving very large datasets and multiple data sources, with ability to interpret data and produce meaningful insights
•Superior knowledge of SQL and Excel, with the ability to turn raw data into actionable findings
•Master’s degree in business or a quantitative discipline a plus
•Programming experience and knowledge of Looker a plus
•Knowledge of statistics and statistical models, such as: power analysis, significance testing, linear / logistic regression, clustering and factor analyses, machine learning and predictive analytics
