Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an Associate's degree program, trade school certification or other verifiable training in a relevant technical field (e.g: CMCO, SMT, etc.)
Experience with Mechanical/Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and/or Electrical Engineering.
Ability to lift and move 50 lbs of equipment; work on platforms, ladders and under raised floors.
Ability to work non-standard hours and differing work rotations/shifts as required (including working on holidays and shift rotations).
Preferred qualifications:
Universal Refrigerant Handler's certification.
Experience in a data center, hospital or power plant environment.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including: Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handling units and CRAC units.

As part of the data center team, you will operate, monitor, and support facility activities at Google's data centers. You ensure that problems are identified and repaired quickly, that contractors deliver quality services and preventive maintenance, and that safety measures are being performed. You bring the ideas of our Data Center Engineers to life and develop creative approaches to improve efficiencies and reduce operational costs.
The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and HVAC systems. Facilities Technicians at Google data centers operate, monitor and support physical facilities conditions. Some of these duties will include heating and cooling of air and water, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control and monitoring systems.
