Data Science Manager
What You'll Do
As a Customer Experience (Cx) data science manager, you will lead a team of data scientists and engineers to ideate, design, and implement analytical solutions to optimize the customer experience. Simply put, our goal is to create an immersive digital experience that creates customers for life.  We gather data and business problems from stakeholders around the Customer Experience organization and deliver end-to-end solutions that leverage machine learning.  This role requires cross functional collaboration and relationship building with business stakeholders along with the ability to understand how data science can help address a broad variety of business challenges, particularly as it relates to digital customer experience.
Who You'll Work With
As the manager of this data science team, you will work with the data scientists and engineers on the team, and leaders across the broader team and organization, and multiple business stakeholders in across customer experience, sales, marketing, IT and operations to process requirements and engineer solutions.  The data science team focuses primarily on backend systems, with data and analytics, and works hand-in-hand with the broader customer and partner facing teams that design the digital customer experience.  Our digital experience makes us uniquely qualified to address the evolving expectations of today’s connected customers and partners, along with Cisco sellers.
Who You Are
You are a business visionary with a solid understanding of how real-world data and machine learning can be applied to solve business problems.  You have experience with software development, big data systems, knowledge of machine learning and traditional algorithms, and can communicate the complexities of data science to non-technical audiences. You think end-to-end, from data all the way to our customers, partners, and sellers, keeping all middle-layer systems and algorithms in perspective. You can manage a network of stakeholders and push the paradigm of thinking around the company, especially with respect to data science. Above all, you are a creative and avid problem-solver prepared to use both classical and novel techniques to deliver advanced solutions.
Requirements:
B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar technical/quantitative field, or M.B.A. with a technical emphasis.
·       3 - 5 years of experience in data science and machine learning; 2 years in a management position leading technical teams
·       Theoretical and applied understanding of machine learning techniques in high-dimensional spaces including linear models, kernels, ensembles, regularization, dimensionality reduction, data mining, and clustering.
·       Management of big data oriented applications including databases, ETL, architecture, and robust software engineering
·       Experience in architecting or leading cross-functional engineering projects
·       Strong leadership, presentation and communication skills
