We are seeking a Solutions Architect to support our technology modernization effort including moving from a legacy mainframe environment to using newer technologies and infrastructure capabilities. This is a key technical role where you will implement modern business solutions using modern application development, integration, and data solutions available within the organization as well as for external customers.
 
You will assist the Chief Architect to provide strategic direction on database design, development, deployment and maintenance across multiple platforms i.e. mainframe, distributed, mobile and cloud. You will play a key role in defining the application and data architecture on a large initiative to migrate legacy systems from mainframe to distributed and cloud.
 
You will be part of the Architecture office responsible for establishing, driving, and implementing architectural principles and guidelines. You will make influencing decisions and recommendations to our business on technologies that are rationalized and timely for operational excellence, process redesign and solutions sourcing.
 
Down the road, you will drive the technical design & development standards of our group to optimize information delivery via intelligent dashboards, APIs, and interactive reporting tools. You will partner with application developers and technology leads to drive the appropriate tools used to meet the business demand. Also, you will develop expertise on the current systems to push the boundaries of what can be done more efficiently. You will need to provide development support, keep up with industry trends and collaborate with co-workers.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Working with database architects, developers, business analysts and domain experts to understand our complex system and migrate the mainframe technologies to distributed and cloud platform
Developing and building a data strategy to improve data quality and operational efficiencies.
Improving reporting capabilities including business intelligence dashboards and data visualization software
Instituting a data architecture and governance discipline to advance rapid delivery of products and data insights
Evolving a future state application architecture that supports business priorities and objectives while being flexible
Handling the local architecture governance process that reviews and monitors the design of new solutions and ensures technology solutions follow the enterprise technology policies and standards
Strategizing and leading the integration and monetization of Data
Proposing and presenting technical solutions and advising the business on the technical and business value of the proposition
Providing architecture and technology support across a range of technologies including but not limited to Cloud, Mobile/Web frameworks, .net, SQL, Tableau, Informatica, TFS and Collaboration platforms
Keeping up-to-date on new technology, standards, protocols and tools in areas related to the rapidly changing digital environment
Monitoring emerging technology trends and leading an innovation lab that conducts proof-of-concept experiments with new and emerging technology
Qualifications
 
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline (Master's Degree a +)
Financial Services experience (Mutual Fund background preferred) with a consistent record of delivering projects on-time, on budget and
