Herndon,Virginia,United States 6K8DP5 As a Database Systems Engr Support Analyst, you are an integral part of the Boeing team developing hardware and software solutions for proprietary programs for our client. We translate customer needs into detailed requirements for system integrated design including system/data architecture, facility design, hardware selection, software selection/development, system integration, testing and operations/maintenance.

This is a key role providing technical leadership expertise in database administration to a multi-site program team, while liaising with Boeing architects and database support teams to leverage the capabilities of the wider Boeing teams

Technical responsibilities include:
•Management and administration of existing production and non-production database environments;
•Perform database design, modification, development, security, backup, tuning, and maintenance activities.
•Analyze and resolve application performance issues in coordination with customers and other Database Administrators (DBA).
•Documenting processes and procedures and ensuring compliance with Boeing and partner database standards, practices and methodologies inclusive of security, hardware, software, and configuration management
•Monitoring system performance to support capacity planning
•Implementation and monitoring of system backups and disaster recovery
•Troubleshooting database and system problems.
•Supporting architecture design studies for technology refresh planning and implementation.
•Evaluating and effectively communicating complex system problem identification and resolution.
•Provide user support and troubleshooting.
•Investigate, test and deploy software patches and updates.
•On-call support is required as well as occasional shift and weekend work

Work Authorization:

This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI U.S. Security Clearance with Polygraph. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

This position requires a current Top Secret/SCI clearance and is contingent on clearance verification and customer concurrence. Please include clearance and date of recent SSBI on profile/resume to be considered.

Basic Qualifications (Required):
•Ability to work across a diverse team of software and systems engineers, technicians, and security specialists in a dynamic environment.
•Administration of Oracle and SQL Server
•Knowledge of UNIX/Linux/Windows operating system internals including familiarity with shell scripting is required.
•Knowledge of database Backup/Recovery techniques including database clustering techniques on varied database technologies
•Experience with virtual server design and implementation
•Strong oral communication skills and experience briefing senior management on technical issues and problem resolution
•Experience with cybersecurity policies and implementation

•Experience with PostgreSQL deployments 

•On-call support is required as well as occasional shift and weekend work

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):
•Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
•Linux system working/support knowledge is desired
•Administration of MongoDB
•Database administration in a cloud environment
•Experience with implementing a Risk Management Framework

Typical Education / Experience:
Technical bachelor's degree and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
