Description

FCA is seeking a qualified Design Development Lead (DL) for Body Control Modules who provides technical leadership to a team of engineers within the Systems and Components Engineering organization through the application of core engineering tools required to insure robust system designs that will flawlessly support a wide variety of system level performance objectives. The DL is responsible for the technical lead of all the Body Control Modules. This includes electrical engineering department interface requirements, customer interface (HMI) requirements, development of function models, standardization, innovation, virtual and physical validations (DFMEA / DVP&R), design practices, lesson’s learned and quality improvement activities, cost value analysis, and the supplier development and selection process. The DL will lead the design and module release activities for the team to meet program timing and deliverables for multiple vehicle programs. The selected candidate will also promote global excellence in engineering through standardized designs, harmonized specifications, and continual learning. Additionally, the DL supports the Design Responsible Manager in assessing and developing the competency and leadership development of the organization.

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/ Civil/ Aerospace/Computer) from an ABET accredited university
A minimum of 8 years of Product Development and leadership experience in the automotive industry
Substantial, demonstrated knowledge with DFMEA/PFMEA, DVP&R, DP’s, CAE, GD&T, EE I-Speed and Device Transmittals
Strong, demonstrated knowledge of Micro Processors and the circuitry to support sensors and actuators
Strong, demonstrated background in product design, analysis and development
Experience with Shainin Red X and Kepner-Tregoe Reactive Problem solving tools
Experience with Design for Sigma (DFSS) using proactive quality tools
Result oriented, energetic self-starting leader with ability to direct cross –functional teams
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Solid, demonstrated CAN tool skills and Bus analysis techniques
Preferred Qualifications:

Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
Experience in design and development with release activities in Electrical, Wiring and/or EE Systems
Knowledge of Electrical Module Software Development and validation
Knowledge of NX, Teamcenter, and FCA business system
Knowledge of CAN, LIN bus communications with circuit analysis
Experience in manufacturing process
