The Director of Content Marketing is responsible for building strategy, as well as developing and executing content marketing programs that support the strategic plan for new customer acquisition and the ongoing customer experience. This role will oversee all marketing content initiatives across multiple platforms and formats to drive sales, engagement, retention and leads and transform Deluxe with new experiences that attract and delight customers across all touch points of their journey.
Design and map a content strategy to support and optimize the buyer’s journey through stages of engagement (Awareness, Consideration, Purchase); serve as a Bridge between Small Business Revolution and the Consideration stage
Iterate and evolve the content strategy; test content formats and distribution channels to determine the optimal approach to reaching Deluxe’s target market segments
Understand prospective and existing customer needs, tasks, and goals, and translate into creative plans
Coach, retain, and grow top talent within the Content Marketing team
Align content production with business goals (e.g., appropriate mix of lead generation opportunities, informational content, support content)
Oversee digital metrics to monitor content performance, web performance, email, SEO, and social media metrics
Ensure all content is findable, optimized for mobile and organic search; meets quality, brand and corporate standards
Stay informed of current trending topics, new developments in technology, industry best practices, and market insights to capitalize on “in the moment” communication opportunities
Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) Communications, Marketing, Business Administration
8 years of relevant experience in Digital content creation and publishing, marketing
Dedicated working experience with: content strategy and execution, content performance analysis, buyer personas, content mapping, VOC programs, and thought leadership strategy
Working knowledge of best-in-class methods for content creation, content types, content process, and ideation
Proven ability to collaborate and work across marketing, sales, product, and customer success teams
Experience using SEO techniques to improve content discoverability
Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence others
