Business Credit is a new area within Business Credit and Data Strategy that focuses on first line risk accountabilities which includes managing credit policy/strategy for US Consumer Bank acquisitions and customer management, portfolio risk analytics and tracking to internal forecasting, as well as analytics to drive and support expansionary initiatives to facilitate opportunities for profitable growth within risk appetite.

Overall purpose of role
This role has responsibility to lead the development, management and optimization of risk/reward opportunities in US Consumer Bank Existing Customer Management with focus on growth initiatives through data and analytics. As a Director-level member of the Business Credit as well as Barclaycard US Senior Leadership team, the role owner will drive world-class credit & analytics strategy as it relates to credit related strategies with existing customers across the credit card, loans and deposits business, including credit line increases, credit line decreases, authorizations and inactive management strategies.  This entails building and managing a foundation of credit and analytical tools and methods, and using those solutions to optimize acquisition credit policies and provide valuable insights that guide customer acquisition across all aspects of the business.  The role owner will effectively lead a team of ~10-15 highly-skilled professionals to execute upon this strategy.  The role will be underpinned by a culture of both local and global collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
 
In addition to the above, the individual will be expected to help drive business solutions across the following areas across our Digital Consumer Bank and Partnership Business:
Credit Strategy: Responsible for development of balanced underwriting credit strategies and ensuring customers have appropriate credit lines for their risk level throughout the account life cycle
Valuations: Lead the development of valuations to support customer management decisions.  This includes forecasting of test, control and tes minus contol performance.  This also includes management of approporiate testing and control strategies to ensure broad coverage and optimization of treatments.  All models and assumptions must be maintained consistent with model governance policy
Risk Teams: Build a working model with the 2nd the line Risk teams that demonstrates 1st line’s ability to manage the business within risk appetite and other decision constraints
Check and Challenge: Partnering across the business unit, Finance, Risk and Model Governance teams to ensure that all decisions are financially viable and sustainable,
