Description

We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.

We have been retained by a prominent metropolitan NYC Medical School, part of a major University, to locate a Director Human Resources and Faculty Affairs for a large department of 900+ faculty and staff including 300 full time faculty, a large and active research program and more than 150 residents and fellows with a budget of approximately $150 million.
Reporting to the Department Administrator, the Director of Human Resources and Academic Affairs is responsible for providing administrative management, organization development and strategic direction of all human resources initiatives and academic affairs functions for all faculty, doctors and staff.
The scope will include a variety of activities including managing all Labor Relations issues related to employees.
Position will advise Departmental leadership on best practices and University policy with respect to determining appropriate disciplinary actions, including suspensions and terminations.

• Responsible for immigration related needs of faculty, doctors and staff.
Assist with sponsorship for the F-1, and J-1, H-1, 0-1 and TN-1 visas and prepare visa documentation for accompanying family members


The successful candidate will have the minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus five years of related experience.
He/she MUST POSSESS experience in healthcare human resources as well as Faculty Appointments.
Additionally: *Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary to relate to physician leadership, business leadership, senior management team and employees at all levels * Managerial skills including ability to identify solutions to complex problems, financial and business knowledge, excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills * Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communications to all levels within the organization *Thorough understanding of health care
