Description

Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Director of Operations for the Plover Complex will have oversight over two manufacturing facilities that produces over 75 million pounds of high quality batter-breaded and par-fried products.
Our team in Plover includes over 400 direct labor team members in addition to over 100 indirect support and 50 salaried team members.
Encompassing three shifts of production, our nationally recognized customers have high expectations around food safety, service and quality.
This role will have direct responsibility for the complex results including yields, labor expense, schedule attainment, order fulfillment, indirect and fixed overhead spending and cost savings.
Specific accountabilities include but not limited to the following: Develop and refine a culture that promotes continuous improvement towards world-class performance.
Establish departmental budgets and manage actual expenditures monthly.
Develop a strategy to manufacture all products at or above the designed standards on a monthly average.
Provide leadership that promotes development of the management team.
Understand and manage cost contributors to positively affect the P & L.
Develop a culture of engagement, communication and recognition to drive retention of team members.
Be the face of the plant to our customers who interact with or visit the facilities.
Be the primary contact and representative for local civic involvement and community affairs.
Work to improve efficiencies through further development of LEAN type manufacturing policies.
The Ideal Candidate will have the Following Qualifications Minimum of 10 years of relevant operations experience and 5 years of plant management experience.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Food Science, or related discipline preferred (professional related experience will be considered in lieu of). Food industry experience and understanding of FDA, USDA, OSHA, and BRC/SQF requirements, multi-plant management experience preferred highly desired.
Current or previous experience in plant management overseeing operations for equivalent sized manufacturing operation.
Ability to understand the vision and culture of the organization and translate into specific actionable plans, and hold team members accountable to achieve desired results.
Proven ability to build strong teams and interact at all levels of the plant.
Demonstrates a passion for learning and a willingness to build new skills.
Recognizes opportunities to simplify processes and create efficiencies.
Experience in managing a union environment preferred Excellent verbal and written communication to varied audiences, including front line team members.
