Under administrative direction of the President, the Director of Supply Chain is responsible for the successful management and daily operations of supply chain logistics and customer service of the US Bioscience subsidiaries . This position will interface with Tosoh Bioscience Japan (TBJ) and other Tosoh Bioscience Inc.
departments to manage, plan organize, direct and evaluate inventory and implementation of inventory management policies for the organization.
Responsible for activities that may include, but are not limited to production planning, forecasting, material procurement, inventory control, warehousing, and distribution.
This position oversees the Customer Service Manager and Operations Manager and Warehouse Manager, each of whom have a team of direct reports.

10+ years in Progressive Negotiation, Sourcing, Logistics or Supply Chain technical experience At least 10 years managerial work experience in a global Logistics or Supply Chain organization Demonstrated experience with strategic sourcing, contract management, procurement processes, materials management and supplier relationship management Strong analytical skills, strategic understanding of financial measurements, presentation and ability to function and interact with a cross functional team Excellent communications skills and aptitude in supporting diverse teams and influence cross-functionally are necessary as is the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Experience in a regulated environment including FDA, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, MDSAP ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, develop, organize and manage the personnel, operations and budget for the Customer Service and Warehouse groups Manage inventory control, forecasting, warehousing, and transportation services Coordinate the sales and operations planning process including demand forecasting, inventory management, and on time delivery Coordinate and collaborate with the Quality Systems & Compliance and Regulatory teams to meet the compliance needs of the company.
Understand customers' needs and work to satisfy those needs within the Supply Chain organization Oversees customer issues and ensure effective and long-term problem resolution.
Monitors programs and procedures to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
Improves customer service quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; establishing and communicating service metrics; monitoring and analyzing results; implementing changes Collaborate with staff, other departments, and senior management to share information, problem solve, and to clarify management objectives Participate in the development of the supply chain strategy for the organization Address tactical and strategic supply chain issues Establish key performance indicators, monitor ongoing performance, and improve performance against set goals Develop analytics, and data management capabilities, including metrics and reports Develop and implement new systems, best practices, inventory control, demand planning, and other optimizations in order to support the growth of the business Manages the daily operations related to distribution and production of laboratory products used by medical and pharmaceutical related customers.
Manages continuous improvement projects within the established Quality Management System Leadership Provide leadership, independent expertise, objective assurance, and advisory services designed to add value to the organization.
Provide technical leadership at both TBI and to the other global Tosoh Bioscience companies.
Budget preparation and adherence.
Influence key decision makers by being a member of the Management Team.
Make tough decisions when required.
Interface with compliance consultants.
Initiate personnel actions, including employee hires, evaluations, promotions, transfers, and discharges.
Provide mentoring and guidance to subordinates and other employees.
Assesses employee training needs and conduct, develop, or recommend training as necessary.
Demonstrate a high standard of work ethics and professionalism to subordinates, peers, and superiors at all times.
Must have strong leadership skills, with the capability to motivate and interact effectively with teams and demonstrated ability to increase efficiencies and performance measures.
Strong organizational leadership and responsiveness, ability to organize complex work.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is largely a sedentary role.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
Occasional travel by auto or air required.
