Director, Technology M&A Strategy and Due Diligence

The Mastercard Operations & Technology (O&T) Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team supports the lifecycle of technology related M&A activities, from target identification, strategic company/partner technology evaluations, technology due diligence, to the support of integrations. This role will lead a cross-functional team of technologists to conduct business-value focused technology due diligences of companies in support of all Mastercard's mergers and acquisition initiatives.
-Work with senior stakeholders across the organization (including operations and technology, corporate development/strategy, and global and regional product owners) to understand deal/partnership rationale and value drivers.
-Identify, build and lead teams of technology subject matter experts to quickly and accurately assess target company's technology, processes, tools and organisation.
-Identify and review relevant sources of technical information from target companies, including technology documentation, on-site visits, and in-person interviews.
-Clearly understand, articulate and document insights as to the suitability of a target businesses technology to achieve strategic and business goals, including potential synergies, risks and mitigation strategies.
-Drive the creation of a high-level target state architecture, technology integration strategy, along with supporting cost, timeline and resource needs.
-Provide technology leadership as the deals progress from pre-due diligence, through diligence, and into integration to ensure the technology integration strategy and any deviations are understood and impacts identified and acknowledged by integration teams.
All About You:
-Strong technology/technology business background, intermediate experience with architecture or technology design experience.
-Experience with a variety of architecture, development frameworks and methods to develop and promote technology solutions.
-Proficiency in leading the initiation and formation of large global technology projects including architecting, estimating, planning, implementing and operating.
-Accomplished in gathering inputs from team members to effectively and quickly evaluate a broad range of technical capabilities of target companies, including software development, operational and customer support, information security and organizational maturity, and synthesize those findings into an integration strategy with associated costs for implementation.
-Strong program management experience managing software and/or hardware/infrastructure projects.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both technical and business, with experience communicating with a diverse audience at all levels of the organization (technology and engineering staff through C level).
-Aptitude to objectively rationalize and bring clarity to high pressured situations.
-Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent) degree preferred.
