Editorial Team Leader for Heliyon, an all-science Open Access journalDescriptionHeliyon, an all-science, open access journal that is part of the Cell Press family, seeks an Editorial Team Leader for a newly-established team based in China.Primary responsibilities involve recruitment and management of a team of editorial assistants in our new editorial office, editorial support of the journal and support of the Lead Editor, academic outreach and solicitation of manuscripts. A scientific background is required, and publishing and people management experience is strongly preferred for the role.Day-to-day responsibilities include: + Manage, recruit and develop the local team of Editorial Assistants in their role as managers of scientific sections, covering distinct subject areas, of the journal.+ Manage a dedicated scientific section of the journal.+ Recruit, contract and onboard academic editors and manage their relationships with the journal.+ Support the academic editors and internal staff with editorial decisions.+ Promote the journal to the academic community through conference and institute visits and solicit manuscripts through invitations of scientists.+ Support the Lead Editor in the management of the journal.What We OfferThis position is a great opportunity for scientists who are passionate about scientific publishing. Candidates with existing management and/or (open access) publishing experience are strongly preferred.
