Present Position Number01186WRole Code TitleMedia Specialist IIIPosition TitleEducational Media Design and Production SpecialistPosition SummaryThe Educational Media Design and Production Specialist works as part of the Studio for Teaching and Learning Innovation (the “Studio”) to assist in the design and production of digital media for a wide range of programs, courses, and communication projects at William & Mary. Reporting directly to the Studio Director, this individual assists in all phases of planning, designing, developing, producing, and evaluating digital media as well coordinating related services such as post-production and media accessibility.

The Educational Media Design and Production Specialist is an integral part of the Studio team and works collaboratively with colleagues on varied projects, programs, and events related to teaching and learning innovation. In addition to contributing to ongoing multimedia productions and projects, s/he assists in managing the work of student interns and other media production workers. The Educational Media Design and Production Specialist brings (or demonstrates potential to learn) knowledge of digital and multimedia workflows and applications as well as instructional design theory, models, and best practices as part of an interdisciplinary and multi-skilled team of educational professionals.

Required Qualifications●Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Education, Communication, Media, or a related field. Or, an appropriate and equivalent combination of education and experience
●Demonstrated project management experience/ability
●Education or experience in digital media design and production
●Experience with video production
●Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
●Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications●Experience with web design and development
●Knowledge of and experience in education or instructional design (preferably higher education)
●Experience with course development, including web-based teaching and learning
●Experience working effectively with faculty and students.
●Experience in educational technology integration
