Summary:

The Employee Relations Speclaist will partner with theDirector of Employee Relations in providing support to the Field Operations regarding all employee related issues. Investigates and offers resolutions of employee relations issues such as complaints, harassment allegations, terminations, discrimination and situations involving interpersonal conflict in the workplace. Makes recommendations regarding counseling associates and termination decisions to District Managers and Regional Directors.

Job Duties:


- Investigates and offers resolutions of employee relations issues such as complaints, harassment allegations, terminations, discrimination and situations involving interpersonal conflict in the workplace. Makes recommendations regarding counseling associates and termination decisions to District Managers and Regional Directors. (and LP)
- Provides support, counsel and direction to field associates on employee relation issues and policy and procedure clarification
- Creates conflict resolution plans and guides the corrective action process
- Drafts and reviews Individual Development Plans and Performance Improvement Action Plans for Field based associates
- Follows up on the processing of disciplinary action and related documentation
- Prepares documentation and reports on investigative activities
- Responds to employee questions and concerns
- Ensures compliance with state and federal employment related statutes including minor violations
- Tracks and conducts data analysis of trends and patterns that relate to the employee relations function (exit interviews, complaints, diversity, harassment, corporate culture etc.)
- Assists in development and implementation of policy and procedures for the Field
- Assists with updating the employee handbooks and procedures manual
- Leads training classes for managers in Field
- Oversees relocation collection process when applicable including setting up payment plans and documentation, partnering with collections as necessary
- Provide reports to necessary parties:
- Issues reports to Regional Director on Thursday of each week
- Employees working without a number report sent weekly (as payroll sends out)


- Back up support for unemployment, employee rehire, ER inbox, and Distribution Center HR
- Conducts live DM Orientation and Assimilations.
- Coordinates SM Exit surveys and conducts DM/RLPM Exit Surveys
- Travels to support the field in conducting in person climate surveys, conduct investigations, facilitate developmental training to field managers
- Maintain a keen sense of ethics when it comes to confidential information


Qualifications


- 3+ years employee relations experience OR retail management experience a must
- Prior Store Manager/District Manager experience preferred
- Proven ability to effectively coach employees and management through complex and difficult issues.
- High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
- Ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams
- Strong, professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to foster a positive and motivating work environment, encouraging feedback and innovation
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
- Ability to thrive and adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast-pace and deadline-oriented environment
- Bachelor’s Degree
