The Enrollment / Eligibility Representative will be preparing, processing and maintaining new member or group enrollments. The Enrollment / Eligibility Representative may load new member or group data into the enrollment database and update the database with changes. They may also respond to member eligibility or group questions and verify enrollment status. Position may also be responsible for reconciling eligibility discrepancies, analyzing transaction data and submitting retroactive eligibility changes. Positions may also be responsible for inventory control of member and group transactions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist patient / family in completing applications for government sponsored programs / Financial Assistance.
Assess patient’s eligibility for government sponsored programs / Financial Assistance.
Contact patient / family and conduct interviews for the purpose of assessing eligibility.
Verify patient’s information to complete applications.
Check patient's account for previous balances and advise patient of all financial obligations and inform patient / family of collection policy.
Notify appropriate areas regarding eligibility status and determination.
Coordinate with various agencies and individuals to resolve individual cases.
Mileage and toll reimbursement for travel as requested
Attend initial training in Melville, NY and train at additional sites throughout Long Island including but not limited to:
Glen Cove
Valley Stream
Huntington Hospital
Imbert Cancer Center
Zuker Hillside Hospital, etc.
Some travel to other areas of the Tri - State Area, as requested, including but not limited to:
Staten Island
Brooklyn , etc.
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
Experience with Medicaid and Medicaid Applications through the Department of Social Services
Must have access to reliable transportation to allow travel to Northwell sites and patient homes as needed
Must be available to work at multiple sites, including areas between Bay Shore to Forest Hills, for training and work
Experience using a Windows PC and ability to use multiple systems and applications at the same time
Experience with MS Word (create, edit, save and send documents), MS Excel (create, edit, and input data into spreadsheets), and MS Outlook (send and receive emails, utilize calendar).
Travel up to 75% - will be local to other various Northwell locations and to patient homes as needed to obtain paperwork, within the Tri - State Area
Must have a valid Certified Application Certificate (CAC) certified by New York State of Health to process government sponsored programs through the marketplace or the ability to obtain a certification within 3 months of employment
Must be available to work shifts 8 AM to 4 PM, or 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual Spanish preferred
Knowledge of the Tri - State Area
