Executive Assistant to the Vice President for ResearchVice President For ResearchLocation: New Orleans, LA

SummaryProvides support for the executive office functions of the Vice President for Research (VPR) for Tulane University, exercising a high level of discretion and professional discernment in an extremely fast-paced office. The employee will provide administrative and communications support to ensure efficient functioning of the office and effective integration with all research units, operational entities, and university leadership. Responsible for scheduling/organizing meetings for the VPR on all university campuses, external meetings, and travel for the VPR. Manages all aspects of VPR files, communications, and operations documents/records. Liaises with VPR’s academic, clinical, and research offices, particularly the VPR’s School of Medicine academic department staff and faculty, to coordinate scheduling for dedicated academic, clinical, and research commitments. Interacts with clinical and research staff, as well as Tulane University Medical Group (TUMG) staff/faculty, as needed to address issues and ensure optimal time management.


Required Qualifications
- High school diploma and five years of administrative experience either directly supporting executive management or working as a member of a team supporting executive management.


Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred. Tulane University experience with operating systems: Kronos; Concur, including travel arrangements via Concur/World Travel; Tulane Account Management System (TAMS), Travel and Entertainment (T&E)/Purchasing Card (P-card) management; and SciQuest/Jaggaer highly desired. Knowledge of and experience with research grants, TUMG, and clinical work highly desired.
