Job Description

As a leading manufacturer of vascular grafts, endovascular and interventional devices, surgical meshes for hernia repair, and sutures, we are looking for an experienced New Product Development Quality Engineer to join our team in Flagstaff, AZ.

In this role, you will be responsible for key aspects in the development of new products, while also leading, assisting, or mentoring as needed. You will be involved in the creation of new prototypes and evaluation of fitness for use of materials, designs, processes, and tests. You will also work as part of a project team and with other technical associates in the Medical Products Division (MPD) to transition a product from concept to manufacturing.
 
Responsibilities include:
Developing an in-depth understanding of user needs
Participating in the device design cycle on a fast-paced product development team
Translating user needs into design inputs and/or design specifications
Developing and validating test methods for the range of design verification activities required for endovascular devices
Performing and documenting design verification activities
Understanding product processing and manufacturing methods in order to transition new products into manufacturing
Selecting, evaluating, and validating components from various potential supply sources
Using the quality, complaints, design control, corrective and preventive action, risk management, and non-conforming product systems
Designing, executing, and analyzing experiments based on statistical techniques
Developing visual standards
Writing procedures and also training and assisting technical associates
Contributing to and/or managing various Design Control activities
Mentoring and driving best practices across multiple product teams
Qualifications
 
Required Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in science or engineering
Minimum of 5 years' experience as a product test/development engineer
Experience in test method development and specification development
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, initiate, and drive projects to completion
Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
Knowledge of Design Control activities and best practices
Solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals and ability to apply this knowledge to manufacturing and product design
Knowledge of the fundamentals of statistics
A work style of hands-on involvement with all phases of projects
Ability to network and interact effectively with a broad range of associates internally as well as external suppliers spanning various disciplines and responsibilities
Ability to work effectively in team situations as well as independently
Desired Job Qualifications:
Advanced technical degree
