Job Objectives (Purpose of the Position):
To resolve higher level issues with Branches and partners and provide assistance to other product support personnel. Utilizing the Product Support Test Lab, the Expert Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for simulating product user environments by configuring file servers, workstations, controllers, peripherals and databases.
To develop and administer advanced technical training for internal staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Functions essential to attaining job objectives):
Job functions include set up and configuration of Windows servers, workstations and SQL Databases. Must keep current with Microsoft products .
Must be capable of troubleshooting and resolving complex system problems, have the ability to quickly learn new products, be capable of working with customers who have varying levels of product knowledge and experience and have excellent phone and personal interaction skills. Will need to interface with Engineering and Quality Assurance departments. Will also be required to provide technical leadership to less experienced engineers and perform technical training.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills (Minimum qualifications needed to perform essential job functions):
Engineering education or background, minimum 2 years experience in engineering or technical support role. Requires little to no direct supervision to complete assigned duties. Works as a senior member of the group.
Essential Education, Skills & Environment (Needed for this job specification):
BSEE, BSCS or equivalent and minimum of 2 years experience
Equipment & Applications (Machines, devices, tools, etc. used in job performance):
Strong knowledge of PC’s in a MS Windows environment, EtherNet networking including Routers/firewalls, etc. Oscilloscopes, Meters, Protocol Analyzers, and Network sniffers.
