This position will be based in Brookhaven, NY with occasional remote work after a ramp-up period. For the time being, candidates should plan on commuting to the client site in Brookhaven daily. Candidates will need to be eligible for a US security clearance.
Work you’ll do
As a Federal HR and Recruiting Manager in the Human Capital group you will:
Support HR and recruiting operations for a civilian federal agency using various HR tools and processes
Adhere to federal and agency-specific regulations surrounding the talent acquisition process
Manage changing timelines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Lead and support tasks on engagements related but not limited to HR Service Delivery, Learning & Development, Communications, Change Management, and Compensation and Reward programs
Create and/or support project deliverables
Perform analysis and diagnose client issues while demonstrating an understanding of the client environment and overall project scope

6+ more years of HR and recruiting experience, ideally in the federal sector
Completed Bachelor's degree
Experience in managing and leading teams
Ability to work independently, under general guidance
Ability to lead project deliverables through to completion
Experience working in a team environment
Professional oral and written communication skills
Relevant software or application skills to complete job successfully
Problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
Ability to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role
Requirements specific to this position:
Local to Brookhaven, NY area or ability to commute there daily
Knowledge of the full range of Federal HR affirmative employment, recruitment, and placement principles
Knowledge of the provisions of a variety of public laws, Executive orders, and Federal regulations regarding recruitment and placement, and affirmative employment; knowledge of other HR processes sufficient to relate recruitment and placement issues to them.
Skill in advising management on controversial or sensitive, complex, and difficult recruitment, placement, and affirmative employment issues and problems.
Ability to perform in-depth research, gather facts, and use extensive and effective analytical and evaluative methods to accurately assess information and make sound decisions involving complex recruitment and placement problems.
Ability to adjust work operations and program objectives to meet emergencies, changing programs, or production requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quality or quantity of work.
Ability to express ideas and concepts and communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to train and work effectively with widely diverse individuals and groups.
Knowledge of the Federal recruiting and selection, e.g. Vacancy Announcements, Application Intake and Processing
Understand the Rating and Ranking processes, Veterans Preference, Schedule A
Prior professional services or federal consulting experience
