About the Role
We are looking for a strong communications professional to lead our corporate communications team, focused on building and maintaining strong relationships with business journalists and opinion influencers; leading Uber’s crisis communications; and managing a team responsible for communications around finance, legal issues and more.
What You’ll Do
Lead our corporate communications strategy, telling the story of our business and showcasing our culture through big-picture narratives about our people and leadership
Work with our beat reporters and opinion elites on a daily basis, while owning a portfolio that includes finance, M&A and legal issues
Handle crisis communications, working across Uber to respond quickly to the issues of the day
Manage a team of high-performing communicators who focus on Uber’s culture, diversity and inclusion, business development and corporate partnerships, Uber’s enterprise business, executive speaking requests, etc.

What You’ll Need
A self starter: You’ll be shaping how we tell our story to the world, requiring the ability to develop relationships, set a strategy, and execute. Things change fast in our world so you’ll need to be highly adaptable and calm under pressure
A fact finder who loves to get into the details and deeply understand an issue from all sides
A superb writer who can distill complex ideas into simple, intellectually credible narratives
A connected communicator with a deep network of strong relationships across the media landscape that you’ll leverage to tell our story in a compelling way
A team player: A well-organized convener with management experience who enjoys working with others to get stuff done
A seasoned PR strategist with 8+ years of experience in communications, policy, and/or journalism, as well as experience working firsthand with high-level executives
