The Head of Technical Institute (TI) is leading the TI team of Evidence for Access (E4A) Medical Unit under US Medical Affairs (USMA). He/she oversees the implementation and execution of in-house real-world evidence (RWE) generation and economic modeling activities within USMA. He/she reports to the Head of E4A and works closely with E4A leadership to ensure TI’s activities are supportive and aligned with E4A strategy.
Leading strategic and tactical plans, resource and budget plans, ongoing development and refinement of the TI group
Overseeing in-house RWE and economic modeling research to ensure the highest levels of accuracy and relevance
Evaluating external new data and analytic technologies that are in line with business priorities across the company portfolio
Upholding consistent compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines, as well as Genentech and Roche policies & procedures
Prioritizing TI’s resource to meet internal and external timelines, based on potential business impact 
Working collaboratively and efficiently with all internal and external customers, partners, stakeholders and influencers
Ensuring the TI team meets or exceeds assigned goals and objectives
Recruiting, developing and retaining talent
In-depth knowledge of health services research methods, epidemiology, decision analytical modeling, marketing, payers and formulary processes/practices
In-depth understanding of U.S. healthcare landscape
In-depth knowledge of the overall drug development process
8+ years of industry experience in health economics or a related discipline
4+ years of people management experience (2+ years overseeing health economists in industry or related functions)
Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding financial and/or other quantitative targets, as well as qualitative goals, for large-scale organizations in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology/or related industry
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving capabilities and skills
Outstanding business acumen with strong knowledge and grasp of the industry, company’s specific positioning, competitors, in-depth understanding of public and private payers, and other key market dynamics and factors
Has made significant contributions to research, development and/or medical affairs strategies, plans and objectives
Proven abilities to effectively lead and manage multiple staff members, projects and teams to successful conclusion
Strong cross-functional team leadership skills and has consistently excelled as a cross-functional team leader
Strong customer orientation/focus
PhD in economics, epidemiology, public health, public policy, or health services research disciplines is preferred
