NATURE OF WORK Under close supervision, performs work of routine difficulty assisting in the design and delivery of specialized public health education programs; this position has department specific responsibility.
Example of Work
(Illustrative Only) Delivers educational presentations and presents information to individuals for their own health care; organizes and distributes printed information, audiovisual materials, and educational aids; assists with the design and preparation of health education materials and departmental publications; maintains records and program documentation; follows up with clients and maintains appropriate records; makes appropriate health referrals within specified guidelines; regular and reliable attendance is required; performs other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
High School Diploma or GED equivalent; one (1) year of health education experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; requires successful completion of a background check; avalid driver's license may be required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: County policies and procedures; basic health care and community health education as relates to the program(s); health promotion and disease prevention.
Skill in: Speaking to clients of varying backgrounds; communicating complex ideas in clear, understandable terms; public speaking; using computers and software; communicating both verbally and in writing.
