Position Summary:

Direct a Home section to increase sales, control expenses, and reduce shrink. Fred Meyer also requires that all associates perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. Essential Job Functions:

Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
Maintain compliance with corporate policies, merchandising and operational standards/requirements
Execute weekly merchandise specialist notes, period planner, seasonal merchandising plans, sales event bulletins, and planograms/composites
Implement, audit, and maintain ad in-stocks
Order/process merchandise, supplies, and control inventory levels for department
Complete price change functions; perform inventory
Remove pick-labels from merchandise; complete planograms/composites and seasonal transitions
Comply with signing standards and apply electronic article surveillance (EAS) security tags to operational standards
Take appropriate action on scan audits based on option 8 scans
Write intersection transfers
Train/develop associates
Emulate/advocate basic rules of firearm safety when working in the Firearms department; process special orders in an accurately/timely manner; maintain required forms and update long term storage from the 14 day file; follow regulatory requirements of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and state regulatory agencies
Maintain planograms, composites, and ticketing per corporate standards when working in the Firearms department; assist in daily firearms inventory
Provide daily supervision and inspection of all firearms documents, including the follow through with associates to correct errors/missing information and maintain long term files per policy, when working in the Firearms department
Audit and correct errors in the acquisition and disposition logs
Ensure the daily inventory has been completed
Train Pro Shop staff members and ensure all staff members are kept up-to-date
Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Minimum Position Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus a minimum of six months Fred Meyer experience and 1 year of related retail experience; or combination of relevant education and experience
Maintain confidentiality
Accuracy/attention to detail
Fred Meyer lift truck certification/license
Valid driver’s license
Ability to operate compactor, cardboard bailer, pallet jack, Shelf Price Audit (SPA) unit, Comtec, and Swiftach
When working in Firearms; familiarity with regulatory requirements of  the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATF) and state regulatory agencies
Maintain current knowledge on firearms and sales techniques
Interpret and apply Fred Meyer Firearms Sales Manual
Desired Previous Job Experience:

Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure
Proficiency with Report Management and Distribution System (RMDS), Magic, and current Company email
If working in Firearms, must complete:
Certificate of Personal Eligibility in AK and OR, background check if in WA
Eight hour Basic of Firearms Sales class
Annual Firearms Sales compliance testing
