We envision, fulfill, and distribute all under one roof, and all while having fun! About your role: The Import Manager is responsible for all international & domestic sourcing, quoting, logistics and communication to key functional management at DM Merchandising.
The position will interface between the logistics partners, factories, suppliers and the DM Merchandising warehouse management, creative and buying teams to drive optimized product quality and brand reputation, on-time delivery and continuous improvement and growth.
Daily Duties include: Assist with the creation of and follow up on Purchase Orders from overseas point of origin to final destination Monitor, report and coordinate hands-on with factories and suppliers Maintain and build relationships with current and prospective factories and suppliers, including sourcing, inspections, and quality control Manage overseas & onsite product inspections, product testing, quality assurance, required certifications and/or audits Ensure factories meet shipping deadlines Communicate with factories for product development and request of new samples using specification sheets for displays, artwork & packaging Ensure items such as price tickets, UPC codes, product testing, factory audit, shipping documents, etc.
are executed in an accurate and efficient manner Monitor service providers for on-time customs clearance Communicate with custom brokers, freight forwarders, and shipping lines regarding any issues relating to shipments; sourcing and arranging all logistics, including local trucking for POE, PTD shipments, 3PL and transportation companies by appropriate means to ensure the best value and service; Manage logistics audits as necessary Maintenance of Tariffs, including requesting of, validation of, and inclusion of new rate requests as needed Drive operational efficiencies and improvement with all internal and external parties via regularly scheduled reporting and real-time tracking, including regularly updated incoming shipment schedules Other duties as related to job Job Requirements: In depth knowledge of 3PL import operations Seasoned listening, negotiation and communication skills Self-starter, disciplined with strong motivational abilities Ability to manage a small team Highly proficient in MS Office products, especially Excel (fully computer literate) Must be well organized with the ability to keep multiple projects on track simultaneously Managerial experience preferred Knowledge of EDI and Warehouse Management systems preferred Knowledge of Mandarin a bonus
