The Logistics Manager within the Inbound and Outbound Procurement team at FCA is responsible for leading the strategy, process and resources for the transportation services purchasing team.

 

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:


- Negotiate and procure transportation services to move parts from NAFTA suppliers into NAFTA assembly and manufacturing plants, as well as finished vehicles from assembly plants to dealers or rail ramps by truckload or haul away services (total buy $1.8 B)

- Find the most cost effective and most efficient alternative to transport our materials and vehicles

- Develop commodity and supplier strategies for the assigned modes of transportation

- Responsible to manage, develop and coach a team of 4 people

- Create commitment authorizations and ensure proper levels of approval are completed

- Assures contracts are completed on time prior to receiving services

- Review Carrier Purchase Orders (CPOs) in ELEEN and approve as appropriate

- Interface with carrier/service providers to review market conditions and current commercial activities

- Track contract expiration dates to ensure bids are issued timely

- Benchmark the industry to find competitive opportunities


Basic Qualifications:


- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or another closely related field of study from an accredited university

- Minimum 10 years of experience in the automotive or a similar industry

- Cross-functional experience in supply chain management disciplines

- Finance knowledge desired

- Experience in purchasing


 

Preferred Qualifications:


- Master’s degree, MBA

- Extremely organized, good planner, independent, detail oriented

- Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

- Ability to work with cross-functional teams

- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

- Strong leader to manage teams
