Position Summary:Informatics Associates work under the general supervision of the University Health Systems (UHS) Informatics Manager and in collaboration with the informatics team. Informatics Associates will be involved in activities and projects across the organization that support and optimize the electronic health record (EHR), clinical information systems (CIS) and other health software applications, ensuring all related systems are implemented, optimized, and functioning with a high degree of reliability. As a member of the informatics team this position is also responsible for training, including maintaining documentation, and working with end users to develop data-driven solutions to improve the delivery of healthcare and patient/client outcomes at UHS; participate in the development of strategies to ensure consistent and accurate delivery of information.

Degree and Area of Specialization:Bachelor's degree highly preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:Experience in healthcare, specifically ambulatory care preferred. More than two years in healthcare highly preferred.

Preferred experience - -Ability to work with users and department managers to evaluate workflows, understand needs and offer solutions utilizing EHR;
-Knowledge of scripting and database programming languages such as Python;
-Technical documentation skills and basic competence in Word and Excel
-Ability to communicate effectively with users across the organization, orally and in writing;
-Knowledge of data management, database analysis and quality control monitoring data;
-Knowledge and proficiency in data processing and programming concepts;
-Project management
-Knowledge of technical training techniques and methodologies.
-Ability to gather business requirements and plan, create, and implement a business application
-Previous support of, or familiarity with, healthcare interfaces
