The Universityof Colorado Colorado Springs seeks a dynamic and passionate faculty member tojoin the Visual Art Program in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts.This appointment is a full-time instructor in the College of Letters, Arts& Sciences beginning August, 17, 2020. The faculty member’s primaryresponsibilities will be to teach 3 courses per semester, specifically coursesin the Digital Photography area, as well as Digital Foundations (Photoshop,Illustrator, Sound, and Video), Digital Design (Illustrator, InDesign), VideoArt, and 2D Foundations. Darkroom experience is preferred as this position isintertwined with the greater Photo area curriculum and facilities.

The Visual andPerforming Arts department is committed to the philosophy of interdisciplinaryapproaches to the arts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an artisticpractice that intersects with areas across the arts and the greater universitydisciplines. Within the Visual Arts area the ideal candidate will demonstratefluency in Digital Photography and the Digital Arts curriculum, bothtechnically and conceptually.


Applicants must hold an MFA (or equivalent terminal degree from anothercountry) and at least one semester (4 months) of teaching experience at the university level. A preferred qualification is a minimum of four semesters (18 months) of teaching experience in upper division courses at the universitylevel. Applicants should demonstrate knowledge and experience teaching beginningand upper level digital photography and related technologies (Adobe Photoshop,digital printing), as well as Video Art. Applicants should have an active studiopractice and be engaged with the increasingly global contemporary art world.
