The Intake & Enrollment Specialist provides outreach, direct support services and assists in the coordination and implementation of participant services. The Specialist meets with new or prospective clients, asks a series of questions for purpose of compiling data, and then uses the data to determine the best next course of action for each client.

The Intake Specialist will need to communicate clearly and effectively with staff, clients, and the public. The ideal candidate is compassionate, patient, organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and a good problem solver.
Provides community resources and referrals to meet the needs of our clients.
Screens program applicants for eligibility via telephone intake and/or on a walk-in basis and/or during outreach services towards program's target populations (including street and healthcare outreach).
Assists with completion and submission of applications for Medi-Cal benefits for participants.
Ensures all applicants are screened for DMC (Drug Medi-Cal) eligibility.
Assists program applicants and/or participants with collecting and submitting documents as needed.
Tracks screenings and participant contacts in an accurate and timely manner.
Administers assessments to determine eligibility and appropriate interventions.
Conducts follow-along and follow-up services to current and former participants.
Provides data entry and updates databases in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
Provides direct services as needed and required.
Performs all job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum of high school diploma/GED.
Must have a good understanding of addiction.
Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
Must abide by Federal client confidentiality regulations, specifically, CFR 42, Part 2 regulation and HIPAA, pertaining to policies and procedures.
Must provide excellent customer service with professional phone etiquette.
Must possess strong organizational skills and good interpersonal skills.
Has ability to interact effectively, with employees at all levels in the organization, vendors, and community members.
Must have strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office programs.
Must have the ability to interact appropriately with clients, as needed.
Must be able to see the computer screen for 95% of the day.
Must be flexible to meet scheduling demands.
Ability to pass all pre-hiring qualifications (TB test, health screening, and drug screen).
Must be able to occasionally make on-site visits to participants where they are (e.g. shelter, streets, resource center, etc.), agencies, and employers.
May be asked to transport a participant as part of job duties.
Must have reliable transportation as some sites may not have regular means of public transportation.
Overnight travel is rare but may be required for training and as part of the program.
Valid California Driver’s License required, with driving record meeting insurers' requirements.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. regularly, occasionally up to 50 lbs
